09:30 – 09:45
We begin our day with an assembly, where children gather in a circle as we sing a short song and greet each other. The next portion of the assembly is led by one of the children (changing each day), and (with help and support of a teacher) is given the following responsibilities:
The morning assembly is followed by fun teacher led morning exercise (warm-up calisthenics) to the tune of music, which lasts 3 minutes. Morning exercise is followed by topic discussions and general sharing.
Children then have the opportunity to use the toilet.
10:00 – 11:30
Children are then given activities to do based on planned themes (as shown in the annual calendar) or are given the liberty to follow their interests as teachers scaffold their learning with a balance of adult-led and child initiated fun activities.
In addition to this, our children regularly partake in outdoor play in our forest school, which is complemented by short trips (post office, shopping etc) and long trips (fruit picking, aquarium, fire/police station, museums etc).
